Main Aims

  • To raise awareness about the foreign worker community in Singapore.
  • Encourage preschoolers to perform acts of kindness to appreciate the foreign workers in their midst.

Project Methodology

  • Applied the knowledge learnt in school and designed art activities and take home kits for the children to complete at home with their parents.
  • Before project execution day, the team visited the children to educate them on the foreign workers and the scope of their work.
  • Scaffolded craftwork activity; engaged children in their thought process as they made the appreciation cards.
  • Preschool children were involved in litter picking at the void deck near their preschool.
  • Sparked conversations between the preschoolers and foreign workers.

15th July: Visit to Little Green House at Seng Kang - gave a talk to the children

30th July: Project execution

Outcomes of Project

  • All children were participative and actively involved
  • Project managed to raise children’s awareness towards foreign workers and their job scope.
  • Foreign workers were touched by the children’s efforts.
