Main Aims

  • To raise awareness of kampung spirit to preschoolers.
  • Encourage the importance of performing small acts of kindness in preschoolers.
  • Help preschoolers to identify different deeds that they can carry to demonstrate kampung spirit.
  • To work hand in hand with the preschoolers to create problem solving strategies for conflict management.

Project Methodology

  • 2 hour long workshop for preschoolers
  • Storytelling session that talked about performing acts of kindness.
  • Card making activity for children to pass to their neighbours.
  • Station games (Neighbourhood Quest) for students to learn more about neighbourliness.
  • Interactive skit that allowed children to witness various issues and brainstorm relevant ideas to tackle the issues.

May: Proposal planning/ liaising with principal from Bright Juniors/ presentation

June: Recce event location/ purchasal of logistics/ dry run for event

July: Implementation of project

Outcomes of Project

  • Children built bonds with the team
  • Children applied the knowledge learnt in previous activities during the interactive skit.
  • Children were actively involved during the interactive skit and came up with ideas along the way.
