  • To reach out to preschoolers and raise their awareness on the importance of kampung spirit.

Project Methodology

  • Role-playing to re-enact typical scenarios of dispute in the neighbourhoods of Singapore.
  • Interactive play to engage the student’s thought process.
  • Adapted traditional game ideas and redesigned to make it engaging for students (e.g. use of big sized props).
  • Games included educational points for children to identify negative and positive actions that are relevant to their interaction with neighbours.
  • Arts and craft booth to encourage children to appreciate their neighbours.
  • Evaluated children’s understanding of Kampung spirit via quiz through games.

Outcomes of Project

  • 48 children from the preschool participated in the event.
  • Children were participative and actively engaged during the event; they generally enjoyed themselves.
