Main Aims

Encourage intergenerational walking habits amongst Singaporean adults and their senior relative(s) to tackle the prevalent issue of dementia in Singapore while fostering stronger familial ties.

Target Audience

Singaporean adults aged 40-64 years old, who live with an ambulant senior relative

Project Methodology

  • Website to share more on dementia and benefits of walks so as to empower individuals to bring their seniors out for planned walks.
  • Sharing of personal experiences among caregivers to build empathy and understanding.
  • Panel discussions with medical professional and caregivers of seniors.
  • Grassroots-level roadshows to disseminate informational materials and facilitate empowering conversations.
  • Walkathon where participants had a morning of fun, education, exercise and family bonding.

Oct-Nov 2018: Formative research and planning

Dec 2018: Start of campaign, launch of social media platforms and websites

Jan-Feb 2019: Grassroots-level roadshows, launch of online videos, proactive media outreach

Mar-Apr 2019: Walkathon event 

Outcomes of Project

  • More than 400 participants turned up for the walkathon.
  • More than 27 million impressions and approximately $740k worth in Public Relations Value.
